To Quito or not?

That bastard insomnia has me up again , and now I’m struggling with the decision of whether I should go to Quito or not. I have moved up my trip to South America by a week, I am leaving on Monday the 29th. But in doing so, I have removed a week from the original trip, so I’m only there a month. Yes, I know…it’s still a month and I’m sure some of you are thinking “F-you Roman, you have a month!”
My planned destinations were originally:
Lima
Cuzco
Quito
Santiago
Mendoza
Buenos Aires
Montevideo
It’s looking that it might be more like this:
Lima
Cuzco
Mendoza
Buenos Aires
Montevideo
I wanted to go to Quito to check out the Volcanoes as well as possibly visit some of our MicroPlace borrowers. But now I’m wondering if I should just focus on the wine in Mendoza and the beaches of Uruguay. And here I thought I was not indecisive…

I (heart) Mercado Libre
During my trip to South America, one of the things that I’m most excited about..(and recently secured) was a stop at the Mercado Libre offices in Buenos Aires. Their business model is similar to eBay, they have their own payment platform (like PayPal) but the difference is that their focus is South America, and their HQ is in BA. There’s also a a lot of in person trading, since postal options aren’t as robust as they are in the U.S or EU.
I used Mercado Libre last May when I purchased tickets from a seller to see MANA in concert in Buenos Aires. It was a very easy process and the guy showed up at my hotel an hour later with the tickets.
The company seems like the “old” eBay, so I’m really curious what the culture is like, is it similar to what it was in early part of this decade? Their videos (as seen above) are also very reminiscent of old eBay….how I miss thee.
