Florence
Another easy train ride to Florence, and amazing weather greeted us. I’m thinking that Obama needs to hurry up and approve these high speed trains in the U.S, I’m betting that even Bobby Jindal would take one here in Italy.

I further embraced my public transportation by taking a bus up to Fiesole on a tip from a friend and had dinner at the most amazing place, called Ristorante I Polpa. I could not finish the plate, I feel bad for the cow they killed to make my dinner
Oh and the Chianti was amazing, and I drank way too much. Round 2 is tonight

I woke up a little blurry…(Adios Julia)

And it appears so did my Sony camera. We spent Saturday night saying “goodbye” with food to Julia, who is going back home after 2 years in the Bay Area.
I fondly remember the first day I met Julia, as it was also the first time I went out (all night) in San Francisco. In the end it was only Julia, Nichola and myself and really LOUD club music.
I also believe that was the last night we’d ever go to Ruby Skye for clubbing. Nothing like a bunch of 30 year olds trying to fit in with 20 years olds.
Julia’s upcoming leave got me thinking about how saying goodbye now, is just as hard as it was when I was young. The older I get, the harder it seems to be to pick up a phone, send an email, or keep tabs on those you care about. So many reasons to blame, but mostly it’s “adulthood” that takes things away from us and then forgets to reminds us that we should push back on them. Julia is the first friend leaving in 2009, I’m sure there will be more.
Note to self: Don’t forget your friends, as hopefully they will not forget you. See you in July (Julia)

Editor’s note: Yip (blonde) would like to make it a point that she’s holding water and not an alcoholic beverage. I guess it’s a January thing.
But you’re such a good talker…
“I know, we don’t talk much but you’re such a good talker”
After consuming way too many glasses of red wine and getting scratched by Natasha Kitten Face, I fell into a sea of really bad dreams last night. Last year this time, I was completely lost in someone who had no intentions of returning what I was investing in her, but I kept doing it. A month later, I confronted her, and her “claim of ignorance” still bothers me to this day. (this is where the therapist is queued and she says “let it go“). Not sure why I’m dwelling on this right now, perhaps its just because I’m pretty F@#$$# in the head.
The day started off really well, I went to my favorite coffee shop and enjoyed the best Americano I’ve had in ages (and I drink a lot of those). The non existent wi-fi signal was trying my patience, but eh, I survived.
I was then pleasantly surprised to find out my friend Jamie had the day off, which resulted in us going to District to drink some red and eat some olives, and pizza, and some funky tuna rolls. We then made our way back to JP’s place to watch Gossip Girl, it’s like my meth, I seriously love that ridiculous show. It’s just not possible to live that life, but for that hour, it’s REAL IN MY HEAD.
Jamie was the proud recipient of the Cusquena beer shirt I brought back from Peru because she was the only one who could fit in it. I made a valiant attempt but my fat gut gave it a “poofy” look that was not fashionable by any means. So kudos to you JP, you skinny bitch:
Natasha summed it up, I just want to find a nice place to lay my head tonight
Sunday, shit
If I could possibly feel any worse, I would accept it just to put a nail in the coffin. I had a great weekend for about 31 hours, then I woke up Saturday morning hungover and with the signs of a failing immune system. Right now I’m looking at the bottle of NyQuil and I just want to make love to it, seriously. But…I need to finish some stuff up for my 8am flight (at least it’s Virgin America, thank you!).
Friday I attended the Oxfam party at the Esquire House in the Hollywood Hills. The house was INSANE, it was like something you’d see in Entourage. Vanessa Redgrave was there, with her daughter Joely Richardson. I slightly bumped Minnie Driver on my way to meeting the President of Oxfam America. He was “expecting me?”. Yeah, I felt appreciated
There was this amazing drink that I had, made with vodka, sounds vague, but that’s all I remember! Oh wait, it was Effen Vodka! I’m officially a big fan of Effen Vodka now
I missed the CMA awards, but I did catch the Brad Paisely/Keith Urban song on YouTube, hell yes!
I have officially 8 days left in the office, though 2 of those days are part travel, so technically I have 6 and we all know I’m not doing shit the last 3 days, so I really have 3 days of actual “focus on work” and the rest I’m going to be thinking about all the work I WONT BE DOING
Wow, I cannot wait.
dance monkey, dance!
red wine songs, track one
Sweet Child O’ Mine
Luna
red wine + beer+ friends=hangover
I am actually surprised I can type right now, I have this fog above my head (or in it). It was a good time, happy birthday Kelley
your bottles of wine (I swear I counted 25) that went back and forth amongst 12 people was great. And in the end, when we looked down and saw that it was “only” 12:15am, someone should’ve said “let’s call it a night”. But instead, we ended up at the Gallery Lounge, and wine turned to beer (who says magic is not real).
Friday night, October 3rd
The purpose of adding a date to this post is because I feel staying in on Friday nights might become a habit. I’m watching the Sox/Angels game and I’m elated that we’re up 5-1 in the 4th. I plan to drink a glass for every run, god help me.
Shit, the Angels just scored. I’ll be back…
